Urgent treatment centres

Inside Whitegate drive treatment centre

Urgent treatment centres are GP-led, open at least 12 hours a day, every day, and are equipped to diagnose and deal with many of the most common ailments people attend A&E for.

Urgent treatment centres ease the pressure on hospitals, leaving other parts of the system free to treat the most serious cases. Urgent treatment centres were created in an effort to provide an alternative to A&E.

On the Fylde Coast, urgent treatment centres are located in Blackpool and Fleetwood and offer both walk-in and pre-bookable appointments from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.

Appointments can be made by calling NHS 111 or visiting 111.nhs.uk.
