Peterhouse School for Children with Autism

Peterhouse School is a non maintained day and residential special school for pupils aged 5 to 19 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition.
It is administered by the charity Autism Initiatives UK.

The school was established in 1974 following an extensive fund-raising campaign led by the late Pat Minshull to provide education and care for her son, Peter.
The school has Department for Educaton approval for admitting up to 64 pupils. The school is divided into up to 5 classes with a maximum of 8 pupils in each class, supported by one teacher and a minimum of three teaching assistants.

The Further Education Department is currently divided into 4 groups, with two being accommodated in Peterhouse College situated approximately 1.7 miles from the main school buildings.

Peterhouse aims to provide a safe, secure and positive learning environment; one in which all young people within the autism spectrum are understood and valued and provided with person centred learning opportunities equipping them with the skills for life.
