Park Community Academy

Park Community Academy is a special academy for boys and girls from preschool age to post 16. The school is set in pleasant surroundings close to Stanley Park. 

The children have a range of learning needs associated with moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex learning difficulties, autistic spectrum, speech and language difficulties, sensory difficulties and associated social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Our pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum adapted to meet the needs of each individual. In addition to gaining language, literacy, numeracy, scientific, technological, artistic and physical skills, our aim is for your child to build confidence and self esteem. We aim for our pupils to make decisions and develop the ability to express feelings and ideas in preparation for adult life.

We also attach great importance to the social and moral development of pupils, and seek to enable them to build purposeful relationships with other children and adults, and to be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.

We work hard to ensure that all pupils feel valued, good about themselves and acquire a high level of self-esteem.
