Paediatric Diabetes Nursing Team

This service offers support to all children and young people diagnosed with diabetes and under the care of the consultant paediatrician and BFW Hospital. We deliver 1:1 education from first day of diagnosis in hospital, home, school, clini and in groups. We aim to meet individual needs, tailored to maturity, culture and existing knowledge and other healthcare needs. Each individual will have a health care plan and specialist training in the education setting. We also deliver specialist training to other healthcare professionals and in all educational settings. We are involved in the mandatory training programme for all paediatric staff.
