Description
The Area SENCO is part of the Early Years Quality and Inclusion Team. The role is to ensure that Early Years providers understand each child’s additional needs and know how to provide successful support from the beginning of their time in the setting.
The Area SENCO is involved in facilitating training and advice to the settings so that they understand and fulfil their responsibilities and duties under the SEN Code of Practice (2014).
Consultation with the Area SENCO may lead to a Request for Involvement of the EYSEND Advisory Teachers for identified children, with parents’ signed consent.
