Description
Cancer Help is a registered charity offering services free of charge to anyone affected by cancer, including friends and family living in and around the two cancer support centres of Garstang and Preston. The Charity’s main focus is around psycho-social support for people affected by cancer. The support offered is available from the point of diagnosis onwards.
Services that are offered are talking therapies which includes counselling, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, relaxation classes, HOPE self-management programme.
Complementary therapies including reflexology, indian head massage, aromatherapy massage and facials, hot lava shells, russian buckwheat massage and reiki.
There are a number of craft based activity groups, bereavement groups and CancerHelp’s Vine House base in Ribbleton also hosts a number of support groups. Both houses aim to offer services in a non-clinical environment, so that clients can feel that the house is a ‘home from home’.
Services are free although some non-core services have a suggested level of donation.
