Blackpool Educational Psychology Service
Description
The Educational Psychology team is one of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services. We work with children and young people to identify, support and overcome any issues they may face during their time in education. We aim to remove any barriers to learning, raise achievement, promote social inclusion and improve emotional wellbeing.
We are the principal provider of Educational Psychology services to Blackpool schools.
We work in:
- Early Years settings
- Mainstream primary and secondary settings
- Special Education settings
- Further Education
- Specialist "Out of Borough" provision
- Other services
We work with:
- Individual children and young people
- Schools & Colleges
- Early Years settings
- Parents and carers
- Colleagues in other services and agencies, including the health authority (NHS), Social Care and voluntary organisations
Typically, Educational Psychologists offer help with difficulties relating to:
- learning and access to the curriculum
- the development of appropriate behaviour in school
- emotional health and well-being
- language, social understanding and social skills.
Our team also contributes to:
- National initiatives
- Strategic work
- School development work

- Children and young people who attend Blackpool settings or who are Blackpool residents
