Andrea Hadgraft Childminder - Fun Days

Hello, my name is Andrea and I'm a full-time childminder. I have two children of my own who continue to support my career choice. I have been working with children for over 20 years. I started my career working with children with additional needs in pre-school and a local specialist school.

I have gained qualifications and knowledge including First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Fire Prevention & Safety, NVQ3, Level 4 in managing quality standards within children's services, foundation degree and I am currently studying for my BA Honours degree.

I deliver organised play sessions with other outstanding childminders to enhance play and learning opportunities. These sessions are valuable for all children as they have opportunities to socialise with a larger group without the structure of a large nursery. We also attend local drop-in groups such as St. Anne's Church Little Angels group.

Siblings are not separated into age-appropriate areas but are supervised and encouraged to mix with others. To have Outstanding providers with a wealth of knowledge working together ensures each child receives the best possible care and attention is an advantage. My home has a purpose-built playroom (with WC), allowing for lots of resources and play area while my lounge/diner is an area for meals, and quiet activities such as sleeping, reading, homework, 1-2-1 education help or TV movie time.

It is my pleasure to ensure every child in my care receives good quality activities that will enhance their learning and development. Activities that cover the seven areas of learning such as circle time, The Rhyme Challenge, PE and exercises, small worlds such as dolls house, dinosaurs, cars and our secret garden. Maths and Language are encouraged during play activities and one-to-one.

Your child's interests will be enhanced during play and will incorporate learning opportunities. Outings are a regular part of our weekly routine including local children centres, soft play, library, parks and sessional visits to the zoo and farms.

These excursions are at no extra cost to parents and are enjoyed by all that have attended. I also accept, the 2-year-old grant and 3 and 4-year old grant, giving flexible free childcare hours a week. These can be term time or all year round please ask for information.
