AAA Westmorland Homecare

Westmorland Homecare was founded by Doctors Josh Macaulay and Chris Moss with co-director Russell Crossley. They had experience of caring for people in their NHS roles as an A&E doctor and Anaesthetist as well as family experience but wanted to help people more than just whilst in hospital.

Going into hospital can be a scary experience for anyone and the feeling of getting back home is like no other. As they say, there’s no place like home. We saw people come into hospital after having poor care at home and saw people who couldn’t return to their own homes because the right support wasn’t available for them. This was when Westmorland Homecare was born.

Our service was founded in the lake district and has now grown to cover Cumbria and Lancashire.

We believe that no longer should people be forced into care homes and nursing homes, no longer should people suffer ill health and poor quality of life. Every individual should be free to remain in their home as long as they wish, they should be able to be as active and independent as ever before and should continue to have rich and fulfilling lives. We want our clients to thrive and live life to the full no matter what age they are. That is our mission and something we are dedicated to delivering every day.

Looking after people properly has never been more important. As our population grows and people are living for longer it has become increasingly difficult to find high quality care.

We have founded Westmorland Homecare on traditional values and we are passionate about providing the highest quality care. Our mission is to change the lives of people in our community, both clients and staff, by creating something really special.

Our service starts with finding the very best homecare assistants who are rigorously selected during the recruitment process. Next we give them extensive training, delivered ourselves, so we know they are up to the highest standard. The care staff then receive world class support 24 hours per day and training throughout their career.

Every client will be personally introduced to their homecare assistants before they come for any visits and we handpick each person so they are perfectly matched to each other. We make sure our clients get the same homecare assistants for all their visits to ensure continuity and so they can build up the friendship that makes everything else work well. Our office team is also on hand to help at all times and has a wealth of experience to share.

It is important to us that every client is looked after like a personal family member and every member of staff is cared for too so they can carry out their vocation to the highest level.
