The SuppArt Group
We are an arts and crafts group, where through socialising and chat over the years our members have also given each other informal mutual support and advice.
We meet at The Community Centre, Tarnside, Blackpool, FY4 4RD (off Langdale Road, opposite Mereside Primary School and Children's Centre). We're there most Friday mornings between 10.00 and 12.00noon (we will probably not meet during school holidays).
New members are always welcome - come along and meet us (or e-mail us for further information). You don't need any special skills or abilities to join in, just a willingness to have a go! A community artist works with us and he will be able to guide you through various activities.
Over the years the group members have tried many different arts and crafts activities - these have included glass painting, woodwork projects, soapstone carving, batik fabric painting, modroc modelling, copper wire sculpture, mosaic, finger weaving and plaster cast moulding. Photographs of some of the artworks that group members have created over the years or so can be found on our website www.batcow.co.uk/suppart, so you can get an idea of some of our activities.
It costs £1 per session, and the kettle's always hot!
