Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACE)

Some children, young people and adults need extra, often expensive, communication aids in order to communicate with others.
Each local area has an ACE Hub, which coordinates the requests for aids. For Blackpool (and North West England) the hub is at the ACE Centre in Oldham.
Equipment provided is funded by the NHS.
The ACE Centre links into both the Blackpool AAC operational group and the Joint Commissioning Board, which has strategic oversight.
