Pupil Welfare Service
The Pupil Welfare Service supports children, young people and their families of compulsory school age in:
Improving school attendance
Safeguarding Children through Child Protection Procedures
Working with statutory and voluntary agencies supporting families in need
Licensing for employment and child entertainment
Children in Employment
We carry out enquiries into the employment of young persons between the ages of 13 and 16 years and issue Employment Licences to those who are engaged in part time employment, outside of school hours and during the holidays.
Children in Entertainment
The Pupil Welfare Service issues licences for children performing in entertainment, including film and television, theatre, modelling and sports.
Children Missing Education
The Children Missing Education Provision is a handbook that has been jointly compiled with Lancashire Constabulary (Western Division - Blackpool area).
