School Nursing

Once a child has started school, the Health Visiting Service transfers care to the School Nursing Teams. These teams provide health promotion and advice within school to all school-aged children and continue to work with families who require additional support in times of difficulties.

School Nurses are Registered Nurses who specialise in child and adolescent health, working with the school and wider community. They aim to promote the health and wellbeing of all school age children and their families. They work in partnership with health, education, social care and voluntary agencies.

Please contact the clinic closest to your school and ask to speak to a School Nurse.
