King Edward VII and Queen Mary School

It is our mission to respect the values, heritage and legacy of both Arnold School and King Edward VII and Queen Mary School, while educating and preparing our pupils to be responsible, courteous, and compassionate young people of integrity, able and willing to serve and lead in our future society.

Aims and Ethos

Each individual pupil, parent and member of staff will be welcomed and valued within a happy school community, where personal excellence is nurtured, whilst considering the needs and rights of others and putting the interests of the school family first. Throughout their time in school, pupils will be guided and supported by the highest standards of pastoral care, as well as inspired by consistently high quality teaching to have a personal love of learning. Our pupils will experience a broad and balanced academic curriculum and a rich co-curricular programme, which will challenge them to achieve their full potential in all areas of school life and enable them to move on to further studies or work with confidence.

These aims are specific to AKS, while also being fully compatible with the stated aims and ethos of the United Learning group. Like United Learning, AKS welcomes pupils of all faiths or none. AKS is proud to share the Group's core values of ambition, confidence, determination, creativity, respect and enthusiasm, as well as the objective of bringing out ‘the best in everyone'.
