We are lucky in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre that we have so many opportunities to take part in activities or join social groups. Doing so not only allows you to enjoy a new hobby, meet new people or learn a new skill but has huge benefits for your health and wellbeing.
Some groups have health benefits by making you more active or helping you to learn more about your diet. Just being outdoors in the fresh air is good for your health.
Others have an effect on your wellbeing. Wellbeing is about feeling good and enjoying life. If you are socially isolated or suffer from anxiety some services give you a chance to get out and meet likeminded people. Others can boost your confidence by achieving goals or just by being part of the group. With so much on offer there is bound to be something for you to enjoy -and if not maybe you could start a group of your own.
The Five Ways to Wellbeing are a set of evidence-based public mental health messages aimed at improving the mental health and wellbeing of the whole population. You can find out more about the five ways here.
